The soft whisper of winds through feathers could be heard about the forest. As Callie began her descention, one wing caught a branch, sending the hawk spiraling to the ground.
Damn it!
The normally velvet voice shreiked through the underbrush, as a maiden in crimson silk appeared where the hawk had once been. Brushing the dress free of debris and adjusting corn silk blonde hair, Calista looked around. Though it had been awhile since she'd been out of the palace, she could never get lost amongst her lands. Finding a place to sit, Cal thought over the events of the past week.
First it was her father, his sudden death at the hands of an ogre had come quite howering(sp?). Then it was her suitors, for as of now, she was the rightful hier to the throne. Her only brother had died in battle, leaving her the soul child of the great Lord of Thorgrim. So now the greatest task lay ahead, avoiding marriage. Could she keep the council at bay, for they insisted she marry. Heaving a sigh, she glanced around, honey brown eyes were full of worry and sadness. Four figures moved into the clearing, the first was the magnificent gryphon Presutagus, regal head dipped low toward Cal in concern. the second was Nightmare, the black pegasus, the third was Lily the snow leopard, and lastly was Ebony, the hawk, who landed beside her on the rock.
What am i to do, is it too much to ask to try and rule alone?
Her voice was exaperatted with worry, and sadness. Deep within the words, fear had crept forth, somethng Cal had never felt. She'd slain dragons, ogres, witchs, and even a spector, but men, now there was a creature best left alone. But sooner or later, the future would come, and she would need to make a decision, but what?

Landing in the brush near her, he looked over the new lady. His wounds were washed off, and only a tint of red was left on his white coat. Coming forward, aqua wings folded in an almost regal fashion, but not deliberately. The trees swayed in the afternoon breeze, his locks blowing from his eyes, revealing the black star. He would only he civil to the lady and the lord, to none else would he pay such respect.
"G'day. You must be the new lady. Allow me to introduce myself. I am Comanche, beast lord of Thorgrim." His head dipped in a slight bow. The animals around her reminded him of Faylinn, the silly little witch that was always interfering. "I could not help but here your words. So that you know, you do not rule alone, for I am always here to help should you require my assistance." Letting his stance relax slightly, he watched the leaves around them waver in the breeze, smelling the slight stint of sage brush. Rain was on it's way.

Standing slowly, she dipped low in respect, for she had heard much about the Beast Lord. Smiling, she was about to offer her hand, a nasty little habit, when she thought of how he would reply to such a gesture. Dropping her arm to her side, she nodded.
You assume right, I be Calista, Lady of Thorgrim. As much as I would like for you to be the only other ruler, tis not enough for my council. But i thank you anyway, for quite a gesture of kindness, for one whos known for such evil.
The word evil sweetned her tongue, the mere sound of it sent her senses alive with excitmant. Gathering crimson skirts, she sank to the rock once more, still watching the beast lord, her eyes falling on the fresh wounds. She smiled a bit, for only the strongest could carry such wounds and be almost immuned to the pain. She remembered the days when pain had been a mere game to her, played 'mongst the creatures of the forest. Days when she could be as carfree to wander alone. But now, things were differant, and she doubted they would ever be the same again.
I will soon be calling a gathering of my council members, and nobles. I was hoping the beast lord would join me, as a guest of honor. It has been a long while since you have visited within the palace walls. It shall be my coranation ceremony, my swearing in as it were.
She smiled lightly, ready to accept his rejection, for it was not too often the beast lords, whether from thorgrm or hjalti, ever set foot within the castle. They had been at odds for some time, both wanted to hold the most power in the lands. One of her goals as Lady was to stop the fueding, and join thorgrim together, hoping to overthrow Hjalti. Twas more of a scheme, but she hoped someday to make it reality.

"I would be appalled to accept such an honor, but I'm a bit restrained to the point of how the council would react to my entering the palace. If you insist, I shall go, but be warned that leaving may be an option should things get...should I say...out of hand..."
Small smirk played across his maw. The council did not take kindly to a beast lord entering the palace walls, and it had been years since he had even seen the abode of the Lord and Lady. Or should he say Lady now. It was more then likely he'd be kicked out, but trying was something he was good at, and that's what he would do. If they didn't want his presence, they could either fight or tell him to leave. Fight seemed a better option to him, but he would leave should they give a thought to asking.
Asking. Did they even ever think that force wasn't the only way to rid themselves of a beast?

Well I don't give a damn what they think. I think it's about time they realize who is in control. My father let them walk all over him, well his reign is over, and so is thiers. It would be with great pleasure to have you amoung my company. It would amuse me so.
She laughed at the thought of the council when the beast lord arrived. They spoke many times of how they wished to rid themselves of them. The truth was, the beast royals were too strong, they held just as much power as the thorgrim royals, if not more.

He chuckled to himself. Comanche might be able to come to like this girl.
"Indeed I will accompany you, seeing as it will please you so." Watching her, he could tell that a new dawn had set on Thorgrim. He couldn't wait to see the looks on the council's faces when he showed up.

Oh you have no idea the extent it will please, stuffy bastards.
She scowled, thinking about the gathering. Nothing was more hated to her then fancy parties and parading around like some doll.
Yes well, nothing like making an entrance to remember.
She laughed, knowing full well the results of such actions, but she didn't care, if it was up to her, the whole damne council would be thrown out of the palace.

Comanche snickered slightly at her words. "Indeed, indeed." He watched the black Pegasus behind her, wishing he could be black. White just didn't fit such a character as himself.

"I shall be expecting it. 'Twas a pleasure m'lady." He once again bowed, before beating his wings and lifting from the ground in one powerful stroke. Another slight flick sent him gliding at a leisurly pace towards the dragon's lair. So much to do these days.
